Public Speaking for a Living

Public speaking (sometimes termed oratory or oration) is the process or act of performing a speech to a live audience. This type of speech is deliberately structured for three general purposes: to inform, to persuade, and to entertain.

YES – I know that it’s one of the top fears of all time. However, if you have been through some things and life has given you a few lemons, and by chance, you have been able to turn things around and now you have made lemon aid with your life, you have a story to tell.

The amazing thing to me is that people need to hear our stories for one reason or another. If you just step out there and are willing to share your trials and tribulations with others you’ll find that you will have helped some people. You have encouraged a few others, and often you’ll save someone’s life.

Becoming a speaker isn’t hard. Getting booked is a little harder, getting paid is really not hard. The rewards you’ll get from helping others is priceless.

The beginner speaker can make about $3,000 per talk, and the more experience you get and the more animated you get the higher your price tag will be. I know speakers who make $3,000 per talk, $5,000 per talk and I know speakers who make $10,000 per talk and yes even a few $100,000 per talk. The more you build your brand and your skills the higher your personal price tag can be.

Think about this – if you can make videos for YouTube you can speak to people and get paid!

Anyone can be a speaker! There is nothing stopping you from being the speaker you want to be but you and only you.

The thing I want to leave with you all is this…You have a story. Your story will help others and they just need to hear that what they are going through is nothing new and that they can get through even the hardest times. If you can relay that message you are really good to go!
